OTOTEK developed a residential Location Control System using 13.56Mhz RFID technology. The system creates a non-segregated, yet secure environment for patients/residents by automatically locking an exit door when a high-risk patient  (e.g. with Alzheimer disease) approaches the door. The system supports resident dignity and security using non-intrusive, “weightless” and hidden personal tags. As well as enhancing resident functioning and autonomy, this system also reduces nurses’ monitoring workload.
